  • Time 08:00
  • Location Abberton Reservoir & Five Lakes, Colchester, Essex

Engineering, agriculture, ecology and the water industry – collaborating to maximise the use of nature-based solutions.

What have we learnt and what can we do to facilitate a sustainable future ensuring costs and benefits for industry and society are understood?

This conference will enable us to learn from others about what is working, what isn’t working and what research is taking place. We want to build partnerships from the event to take forward ideas that the UK water industry can develop with others. We need to focus more on nature-based solutions, facilitating sustainable outcomes. We need to truly understand the costs and benefits that arise from projects – for both the water industry and for society generally.

Our speakers will address current issues such as emerging legislation, tools to quantify costs and benefits, examples of best practice, and will spark discussions to help drive future collaborations,  innovations and nature based solutions.

Mark Gough from the Capitals Coalition will be running a workshop on Day 2 ‘

How to standardise and make it the norm to include social and natural costs and benefits as part  of the whole life costings of projects?

Benefit from the Coalition’s unique overview of the capitals approach and community, gain insights into the latest thinking and developments and receive newsletters and project updates.
