We Value Nature’s module 1 train-the-trainer session on 30 September is dedicated to African partners and will walk you through the training material from our introductory module on natural capital which will provide you with the necessary material and knowledge to explain to a business audience in a simplified and relevant manner:
• What natural capital is and how it relates to other concepts such as biodiversity and naturebased solutions,
• What are natural capital impacts and dependencies and the importance of identifying and assessing these,
• What are potential business risks and opportunities that can stem out from those impacts and dependencies and how do these link to business risk management and decision-making,
• How can companies get started on integrating natural capital in decision-making.
This train-the-trainer is being provided for African partners and hosted in collaboration with the Capitals Coalition and the IUCN Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (IUCN ESARO). Practical examples and experiences from the region will be shared throughout the session to make it as relevant as possible to your context. The main resource used throughout the training is the Natural Capital Protocol, a standardized framework for businesses to identify, measure and value their direct and indirect impacts and dependencies on natural capital.
