Landscape Restoration with a Business Approach: MOOC

“1st ENABLE course launched May 1st 2017.

How to restore landscapes and, simultaneously, create sustainable businesses? The answer is given by the first online course promoted by the European Network for the Advancement of Business and Landscape Education (ENABLE), a strategic network co-funded by the EU Erasmus+ programme to enable education regarding landscape restoration with returns of inspiration and of social, natural and financial capital.

ENABLE provides educational tools to professionals and management students in order to equip them with the knowledge and skills to develop sustainable businesses in the area of landscape restoration.

The first massive open online course (MOOC) created by ENABLE is about LANDSCAPE RESTORATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: A BUSINESS APPROACH and it is launched on May 1st 2017. It is aimed at business students and professionals as well as anyone with an interest in business-driven landscape restoration.

The course lasts 7 weeks and will introduce areas such as Land Degradation & Restoration, Economics of Land Degradation, 4 returns Approach, Wicked problems, Partnerships and How to Design a Sustainable Business Model.

The ENABLE project is a response from calls to action from policy makers, business leaders, and universities for high quality education on land degradation and the required large-scale, multi-partner response required to counter landscape degradation.

The ENABLE consortium includes academic partners, private businesses, the public sector, and NGOs, namely – Rotterdam School of Management – Erasmus University, Commonland, United Nations University (UNU-LRT), the Spanish National Research Council (CEBAS-CSIC) and Estoril Conferences/Municipality of Cascais.

Participants will have access to a wide network of experts, differentiated events, and content which will enable them to make a difference!
