Nature and its Role in the Transition to a Green Economy

This TEEB discussion paper looks at how Nature and Natural Capital contribute to a green economy, both in terms of the benefits provide to society by maintaining nature as well as the losses avoided by conserving and rehabilitating natural capital. The Key objectives of the paper include: 1) Highlighting the role of nature and natural capital in the transition to a green economy, 2) To share and mainstream the findings of TEEB, in particular on the economic value of nature, to a wider community, 3) To highlight opportunities of working with nature to simultaneously address multiple policy objectives 4) To encourage synergies and evidence based action.
