They act as matchmakers to ensure that different parts of the system are connected to one another, and that leading organizations and experts are working collaboratively to achieve our shared ambition.

Previously, Mark led the Natural Capital Coalition and was on the board of the Social and Human Capital Coalition. He championed and delivered the bringing together of these two communities, creating a unified, systemic, collaborative approach.
Mark has worked extensively in the private sector, leading programs and strategy for the Crown Estate and Reed Elsevier (now RELX), as well as advising many more.
Among other board and advisory positions, Mark is on the Advisory Board for TEEB (The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity), a member of the Steering Committee of the United Nations CEO Water Mandate and an advisor on the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy.

With more than 25 years of experience as policy maker for the Netherland’s government, Martin has worked in several policy domains, including environmental policy, international nature policy and green growth policy.
He is co-author of several national policy documents and has led public-private collaborative actions on natural capital in the Netherlands from 2014. In 2018 Martin initiated and led the global Government Dialogue on Natural Capital.

Natalie is responsible for building impactful funding partnerships. Previously Natalie worked as Global Director at the RSA (Royal Society for Arts) where she built a global infrastructure of affiliates and opened up the RSA’s research and 29,000+ Fellowship to the world.
Natalie began her career in the private sector working for FTSE 100 company Wolseley Plc in Europe and then built a highly successful socio-economic impact consultancy within think tank the New Economics Foundation (NEF) in the UK and internationally, working with over 100 charities, social enterprises and governments.
Natalie has published, chaired and spoken publicly on topics ranging from the social, economic and environmental impact of community-based adaptation to climate change, to the importance of diverting women from the criminal justice system, to the trends in the future of work and artificial intelligence and the tyranny of oil. She is passionate about helping institutions put people and the planet at the heart of decision-making to achieve transformative change.

Mary has over 20 years’ experience of working with children and young people’s charities in the areas of disability, health and education.
With a background in third sector project management, service development and fundraising her roles have included Director of Development for National Deaf Children’s Society and Chief Executive of Springboard for Children. She holds an MA in English Literature and an MSc in International Development.

Marta has 15 years of experience promoting environmental economics and natural capital valuation, both in the public and the private sectors. Prior to her appointment at the Coalition, Marta worked as Scientific Project Officer for the European Commission’s Institute for Energy and Transport.
In the past, she has worked for PwC, the Spanish National Research Centre of Energy, Environment and Technology, Red Electrica de España and the Universidad de Alcalá. In 2012, Marta was awarded a PhD in Global Change and Sustainable Development from Universidad de Alcalá, Madrid, Spain.

As the co-founder of XBRL and the XBRL International consortium, Liv works globally with leading market regulators, accounting associations, and institutions. She has held several speaking engagements on financial and business reporting standards, their benefits, potential applications, and adoption in corporate governance and social responsibility reporting.
Liv has also held several leadership positions related to XBRL, including as a member of the IFRS XBRL Advisory Committee, the XBRL International Steering Committee, and the XBRL Standing Committee.
Liv has authored one of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA)’s most successful professional courses, “Accounting System Technology for the 21st Century”, and published numerous articles for international publications and journals. She is an editorial board member of the “International Journal of Disclosure and Governance”, as well as the co- and contributing author of several books, including XBRL for Dummies, the Governance, Risk, and Compliance Handbook, The Landscape of Integrated Reporting, and Effective Auditing for Corporations.
For over 10 years, Liv was the Senior Director of Strategic Customer Initiatives at Workiva Inc., which serves over 70% of fortune 500 companies and more than 200 EU companies with their statutory reporting requirements.
Liv is currently on secondment to the Capitals Coalition as Senior Advisor and Digitization Lead. She is also the Lead for the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group’s (EFRAG) Project Task Force on Corporate Standards Reporting Directive’s (PTF-CSRD) Formats Working Group, responsible for developing digital standards for the EU’s sustainability standards.
Liv is a long-standing member of the IMA, and is currently a member of their Sustainable Business Management – Global Task Force

Joseph leads on the Coalition’s communications, outreach and messaging.
Previously, Joseph has worked for Sürdürülebilirlik Akademisi in Turkey, The B Team and Futerra in New York, and Guardian Sustainable Business & Salterbaxter MSLGROUP in London.
Joseph has also spent time with AMREF in Uganda studying integrated development projects in the Ugandan village of Katine, and with Fundación Gaia Amazonas in the Colombian Amazon Basin, whose main aim is to gain legal rights for the indigenous communities in the area and protect the forest from illegal logging and mining.

Prior to this position, Hannah was part of the team which lead on the development of the Natural Capital Protocol at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). Most recently, Hannah lead the technical development of the Natural Capital Protocol Toolkit. She has also worked as a sustainability reporting analyst.

Martine is a Director at the Coalition, responsible for the successful application of capitals thinking in the business sector within the scope of the TEEBAgriFood project. She has over 10 years of experience in the field of sustainability, ecosystem services and natural capital.
Prior to her appointment at the Capitals Coalition, Martine worked for the Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP). She chairs the ESP Sectoral Working Group ES in Business.
Her background is in cultural anthropology and she mastered in organisational anthropology in 2006, linking sustainable practices with culture. She is passionate about building partnerships with people from various backgrounds to support societal transformation that includes natural, social and human capital.

Tim is the Collaboration Director at the Coalition, helping to draw on the expertise and experience of the Coalition organizations to support a capitals approach and holistic decision-making. Previously, he has worked as a consultant identifying, measuring and valuing ecosystem services across the Caribbean, West Africa, and Oceania. Tim has also worked in the EU Emissions Trading System, financing emissions reductions projects globally.
Tim has a BSc in Biology (University of Sheffield), an MSc in Environment and Resource Management (VU University, Amsterdam), and an Investment Advice Diploma (CISI, London).

Tom is a senior manager at the Capitals Coalition focussing on the technical side of capitals and biodiversity accounting and valuation. Tom is an ecological economist and is based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Previously, Tom worked as an economist at Scottish non-departmental government body NatureScot and helped to develop the natural capital approach at local and national levels, including the world’s only non-monetary national natural capital indicator.
He is passionate about ensuring that all types of value are included in decision-making processes in order to create outcomes that are beneficial to business, society and most importantly the planet and that people’s ability to do so is open and accessible. Tom believes that economics can be a force for good to create solutions that benefit society and nature.

Louise leads the education program at the Coalition, developing online courses and capacity-building opportunities to equip individuals and institutions with the knowledge and skills needed to transform our economy.
She also works with food system transformation, developing guidance, accelerating collaborations, and accompanying businesses to make a positive impact as part of the TEEBAgriFood project.
She has 8 years of experience promoting socio-ecological transition by conciliating production, human well-being, and environmental regeneration. Previously, she was a consultant in Latin America for IUCN, the World Agroforestry Center, and Public agencies to organize the World Water Forum, structure payment for ecosystem services projects, and foster social innovation for sustainable landscapes.

Adanna is a curious generalist, international affairs analyst, a skilled network weaver and facilitator. She is the Events and Relationships Lead at Capitals Coalition.
Previously as the Global Insights & Practice Lead at the Royal Society of Arts, she was responsible for harnessing global thought leadership on key research themes such as future of work, inclusive growth and innovation, undertaking horizon scanning on emerging practice and international policy development and spotting global engagement opportunities to shape policy and cultivating strategic engagements with global partners.
In the policy arena, Adanna represented the United Kingdom within the global Technical Vocational Education and Training community as part of the WorldSkills movement and was the project lead for an international youth skills development programme. She held research positions on development initiatives for the Government of Trinidad and Tobago as part of its inaugural national foresight exercise and for the UNDP Caribbean Sub Regional Resource Facility on their key practice areas on democratic governance, poverty reduction, disaster resilience and HIV/AIDS education and prevention.
As a foresight practitioner, Adanna co-authored a research report entitled – Stitch in Time – Realising the value of futures & foresight in policymaking and a Rough Guide – how to be a public entrepreneur in practice. She is passionate about empowering others to co-create their own alternative futures and supported communities and networks in deploying foresight methods to uncover innovative solutions to challenges.
Adanna is also part of the Diaspora Futures Collective, a community of futurists, designers and creatives committed to surfacing issues of power and equity within the futures field.

Lenka has over 20 years experience mainly in the corporate world but also in the NGO and academic worlds. She is experienced in creative vision, strategic thinking, systemic change, advocacy as well as global supply chains, continuous improvement, program management and implementation.
Lenka is interested in co-creating a new, regenerative story & vision for the world which is rooted in the custodianship of the Earth, diverse kinship and interconnectedness.
She is currently exploring regenerative finance to support our change to a world where nature and society thrive and is involved with a number of initiatives and organisations that help with the transition.

Justine Saunders is an environmental scientist with twenty-plus years of experience in policy analysis working with governments, organisations and academic research institutions across New Zealand, Europe and Southeast Asia. Her work has involved the application of ecosystem service frameworks to policy development to facilitate embedding the principles of ecosystem-based management and sustainable development in decision-making.
She was most recently the project coordinator for the first natural capital assessment for Singapore. She has a BSc in Botany and an MSc in Environmental and Marine Sciences from Auckland University.

Doug MacNair, Ph.D. is a Technical Director at ERM, and is seconded to the Coalition. He has 30 years of experience in the field of economics and decision sciences. Dr. MacNair specializes in non-market valuation, benefit-cost analysis, and in developing decision support tools for helping companies include environmental, financial, and social issues in strategic decision-making. The topics have included climate change, water management, air quality, outdoor recreation, open space and managed landscapes, capital expenditures, health and safety risks, and environmental liabilities. Dr. MacNair also has extensive experience in survey design and analysis and in facilitating workshops/focus groups for public stakeholders and agency and corporate staff.
Dr. MacNair is an adjunct professor at North Carolina State University. His research has been published in Land Economics, Marine Resource Economics, and Forest Economics. Prior to focusing on environmental economics, Dr. MacNair worked for 10 years in the securities industry. He was Associate Director of Economic Research for NASDAQ, the over-the-counter stock market.

Nidhi is working as Project Manager of Value Commission. She is a development professional having over 11 years of experience with background in Finance. By qualification, she is a Chartered Accountant and a Company Secretary having worked in the banking & financial services industry for 5+ years ensuring financial inclusion. Post her industry change, she assisted the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation to focus on areas that she feels most passionately about, thereby impacting over half a billion lives in rural India by providing water supply and sanitation to develop households to be self-sufficient.
She also has experience of working in Health sector where she was working towards elimination of Tuberculosis working closely with the Government of India.
She has also served as a Global Co-Lead (Health Equity) of Equity and Inclusion Steering Committee, World Economic Forum along with being a Global Shaper. She has also been part of the Unleash Fellowship 2022, ideating on solutions for Climate Change.

Ruth champions good practice through operational processes such as IT, grant management, finance, impact assessment and reporting.
Ruth previously worked in the operations manager role for a UK charity organisation, supporting the well-being and mental health of refugees, asylum seekers and others displaced by conflict.

David leads on communication for Coalition projects and supports media outreach, Coalition publications, advocacy efforts and Capitals Hubs worldwide.
Previously, David has worked for Social Value UK and Social Value International, leading on global communications, international events and policy change campaigns, and for the Jack Petchey Foundation in London.
David works as a creative copywriter, photographer and arts and culture journalist focusing on emerging musicians, the UK live music scene and east-Asian media. David has championed platforms to give online creators a voice and provide areas for global collaboration in the online space.
David holds an LLB in Law with Accounting and Finance.

Kate works in the Communication Function at the Coalition, leading on digital advocacy communications and social media to promote the capitals approach and collaboration work of the Coalition.
Kate previously worked at WWF International for the New Deal for Nature & People initiative, supporting and coordinating a wide range of projects, including digital advocacy communications and high-level events, focused on raising nature up the global agenda.
Kate is passionate about the natural world and comes from a conservation background, having previously worked for the Natural History Museum in London as a Research Officer for the UK Whale & Dolphin Strandings Programme. Kate holds an MSc in Global Wildlife Conservation and a BSc in Marine Biology.

Stephany brings a unique perspective to the Capitals Coalition team as an executive assistant. She recently gained an MSc in Conflict Studies (London School of Economics and Political Science) and has a BA in Archaeology, BSc (Hons) Physical Anthropology, and an MSc in Anatomy.
Previously, Stephany worked as a forensic archaeologist and anthropologist and was involved in post-conflict repatriation missions in Georgia and Abkhazia. In South Africa, she managed grave relocation projects on mines and other development. This work raised her passion for ending cycles of systemic violence and now hopes to use her diverse background to advocate for a capitals approach to decision-making.

Lisa joined the Capital Coalition’s TEEBAgriFood project in 2022 as Engagement Officer. She is passionate about fostering collaboration across different cultures to build societal transformation. Lisa is supporting the coalition in building partnerships and delivering training on the integration of natural, social and human capital into business-decision making.
Lisa began her career with internships at WWF Germany in the environmental education and public relations department, and at the GIZ supporting stakeholder management for the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles. Before joining the Capital’s Coalition, Lisa worked for IDH-The Sustainable Trade Initiative, in which she supported a project on smallholder farmer inclusion in global agrofood value chains.
Lisa has a B.A. Liberal Arts and Sciences (Maastricht University, Universidad de Buenos Aires) and a MSc in Sustainable Development/Earth System Governance (Utrecht University).

Hannah works in the Collaboration Function at the Coalition. She will support in enabling and tracking engagement on the global capitals community and will support new organizations in the Capitals Coalition.
Hannah’s background is in UK-based, public sector planning policy. She previously worked at the South Downs National Park Authority, with policy expertise in tourism, equestrian and travellers. Focusing on digital engagement and consultation for Area Action Plans and the Strategic Local Plan. She supported policy planning in a designated landscape environment, with a focus on biodiversity net gain and ecosystem services.
Hannah is particularly passionate about the climate crisis and making the barrier to engagement as low as possible and making information accessible to all interested parties in new ways. She has an MSc in Spatial Planning and Development and a BSc in Environmental Geography.

Tanara works as the education assistant at Capitals Coalition, responsible for supporting the creation of a Coursera course on human and social capital.
With a background in marketing and experience working within the education sector, Tanara strives to bring in knowledge of business and communications to make transformational change. Growing with the foundation, Tanara is eager to take concrete steps in educating businesses about ethical decision making using the capitals approach.
Tanara has a BSc in Liberal Arts and Sciences and an MSc in Marketing Management. She is currently based in London, pursuing an MA in Brands, Communication and Culture.
